REIKI HEALING
This story is handed down from master to student, Mikao Usui was a Tendai Buddhist Priest his family was also very well known and respected and belonged to the Hatamoto Samurai family.
CHI
On his quest to find out the answer to one of his pupils questions Mikao Usui found an ancient Sanskrit text explaining a process for initiating into healing the text did not however explain how to access the energy.
QI
Mikao Usui practised Kushu Shinren which was part of a martial art called shugyo it is believed that this helped his sensitivity to energy and as a Buddhist priest used meditation as a means to gain insight into Spiritual issues and to promote mindfulness. It was decided that he would go into the wilderness to mount kurayama where he would meditate for 21 days. He piled up some stones which he used to mark off the time and began his deep meditation.
HEALING
On the 21st day in the darkest hour just before dawn he saw a bright light coming towards him but he was unafraid and it entered his 3rd eye he was shown and given access to an ancient healing energy and was one of the first distant transmissions or initiations given at that time he was aware how to access this sacred energy and after some time he began to make his way down the mountain.
REIKI
Mikao Usui experienced what are called the 4 miracles, he stubbed his toe on a jagged rock making his toe bleed and he immediately placed his hands over his toe and it was healed.
HEALTH
Next he made his way to a house where he was offered a meal which he ate with no discomfort at all.
REIKI
The lady serving him had severe toothache and Usui san placed his hands over the area of pain and her pain disappeared.
REIKI MASTER
Finally Mikao Usui made his way back to his monastery, upon reaching it he was told that the Abbot was seriously ill in bed, once again Mikao Usui visited the Abbot and upon placing his hands upon him he was cured.
TRUTH
Mikao Usui wanted more people to experience the healing power he had been awakened to so he set off on a pilgrimage across Japan helping all of those he could at this time there had been a huge earthquake and Usui helped many people he was regarded as a saint by those he helped. He soon became very well known and in Kyoto there is a shrine dedicated to this great man. Many Reiki practitioners and Masters go there to pay their respects to him.
